The 2009 Banco Popular Special returned to its musical tradition with "Palés y la Rumba de Esquina." This tribute to Luis Palés Matos presents the vibrance and rhythm of the African culture in Puerto Rico. Among the stars appearing are Lucecita Benítez, Michael Stuart, Fofé, Willy Rodríguez-de Cultura Profética-, Superaquello, Mima, Mimi Maura, Plena Son y Son del Batey.
