Para Queta, (For Queta) is a novel set in Loíza, Puerto Rico in an era when the island dissociates itself from the Spain to end up in a complicated and difficult relationship with a great power. It proudly evokes the customs, joys and misfortunes of a country that lives with the mix of indigenous, African, European and North American heritages. It takes the reader from 1920 to1968, a time of great political change that defines the island, through the story of three women: the wife, sister and servant of the owner of a cane field. After a series of rapes, the landowner mysteriously dies, thus changing the lives of the three women.
